Terms of sale & use

Offsite is developed and sold by Elias Gomez, an independent developer. These terms are written to be read, not to hide anything. Buying or using Offsite means you agree to them.

The license

• A personal license costs $10, once. It covers you — install Offsite on up to 3 computers you personally own and use.
• Updates are included. There is nothing to renew and no subscription.
• The license is for personal use. If you want to roll Offsite out across a business, write to us first — a business tier is planned.
• Don't redistribute, resell, or re-license the software itself.

Your storage, your data

• Offsite copies your files to storage you own (for example your own Backblaze B2 account). Your storage provider bills you directly for storage; we never handle that money and never hold your files.
• Your files, your bucket credentials, and your backups belong to you. Backups are stored as plain files readable with standard tools, with or without Offsite.

The honest disclaimer

Offsite is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We build in verification — restore tests, checksums, failure alerts — precisely because no backup software can promise perfection, including this one. You are responsible for checking that your backups work (the app makes that a one-click habit) and for keeping your storage account in good standing. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Offsite is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Changes

If these terms change, the date above changes with them, and material changes will be noted in release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
